I have only had sekt one other time in my life, and this time, I was able to find a bottle in PA.  Well, the varietal in this wine is riesling, but it doesn't come across as sweet.  It's somewhat dry, but with a nice almost spicy edge to it.  It's clean, crisp and great.  You get just the faintest hint of peaches and pears at the end of the initial inhalation of this libation.

It will take a while for sekt to take hold to the American market, but if they can supply it and present it, it will definitely take off.

Our Mission: The Black Winer strives to expose African Americans [and others] to wines, without the flair, stuffiness, and airs of elitism and snobbery that you get from sommeliers and high level wine enthusiasts. We believe in finding something that you like the taste of, outside of the basic brands that you have been force-fed over the years through a combination of ethnically targeted advertising, and what people in your family have historically been drinking.
